The controller has a built-in RTL8189FTV WiFi device, 2.4GHz, 150Mbps rate,
with a built-in 7dBI high-gain patch antenna using an IPEX Gen 1 connector,
which can be used for wireless transfer of machining files between your computer and the controller, or for online network system upgrades,
You can set up the WiFi to connect to in the Settings,
Testing shows that the closer the router is to the controller and the fewer obstructions in between, the faster the transfer; walls will noticeably reduce the speed,
Testing also shows that placing the internal antenna outside the controller’s housing brings no significant improvement in dBm — what really matters is keeping the router and controller free of walls in between,
Speed is affected by dBm,
Below is a comparison of WiFi transfer speeds with and without a wall in between,

How to read dBm (negative numbers; the closer to 0, the stronger):
– -30 to -50 Excellent
– -50 to -60 Good
– -60 to -70 Fair (you’re currently at -68, in this range)
– -70 to -80 Weak, prone to speed drops
– Below -80 Basically unusable
